Artist Statement

James Griffin (b. 1950) creates art in many forms highly emphasized by his inspiration from nature. He designs and builds stone and wood furniture in the forms of chairs, tables, and benches for both indoor and outdoor environments, welded tree sculpture known as Detroit Bonsai, and state-of-the art gardens environments.

Jim is a graduate of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, where he earned a BFA from the Crafts department. After graduation he opened Enigma Studio Detroit where he exhibits his latest designs and artwork.
