Art follows what I ordinarily do. An outdoors person, I hope my landscapes invoke the sense of a moment in time: light reflecting off wet rocks on a distant shoreline; a sky that as kids made us imagine clouds as objects; homes in other countries different than ours; reflections on a quiet pond on a summer morning or those times between sunlight and darkness. An acquaintance once told me until seeing a show of my landscapes he rarely looked at the sky and now does as a matter or habit. That's a response I'm very thrilled with.
