My work as an illustrator and printmaker is fed from my time spent out recording and interpreting the environment that I have chosen to be in. This might be a cityscape or a forest. What I want to capture on paper is the essence of that place, and drawing and painting are the foundation of that work, imprinting a memory of place and shape that inevitably informs the final image.

From a printmaking perspective, I am drawn to the immediacy of the screen-print and monotype processes that both allow and encourage a bold interpretation of the initial sketches and paintings that I have done at a particular location.
